Writer’s block was a curse/Until I found verse
I’m a teenage girl who sees a whole lot that is wrong with the world and longs to right it.
I love the ocean, the waves speak to me and the creatures in them fascinate me to no end. I also love cats, they have an aura that dogs could never hope to have.
I believe that as humans we CAN coexist in spite of our differences. We just have to be willing to realize that our way is not the only one. I’m not religious, I believe that religion is a force that divides, and that too many people involved in a religion are not willing to respect other religions.
I am an American, and I am proud to be one most days. I often get very frustrated with my country’s superiority complex and how little we respect other cultures and ways of life. We are a melting pot unwilling to change the temperature.
Poetry is the most raw expression of opinions, emotions, and ideas. I guess you could call it an element, and all other forms of writing are minerals. Some of my poems are about issues I see in this crazy world of ours, others are about nature, and a few are about personal issues I’m dealing with. Enjoy and tell me what you like, but most importantly, tell me what you don’t. Your opinion means the world.

I pronounce Andrea as /ahn-dree-uh, people have butchered it on many occasions :))
I am the catcher of stars
The dreamer of dreams
The wandering soul
Who is not quite what she seems
I desire to be
The righter of wrongs
The one who for peace
Tirelessly longs
Everyone I see
Is equal to me
I hate prejudice the most
The bastard has made
Humanity its host
Nature is my friend
I will protect her
To my end
Knowledge is the key
With which I open up
The world around me
I’m the observer
The one who sees all
Don’t worry my friend
I will catch you if you fall
I long to escape
These chains locked by fate
I am a soul who longs to roam
This entire planet is my home
I’m a tad introspective
And occasionally lazy
For all intents and purposes

No, I assure you the honor is me following yours, you bring into light that which most dare not to. You are always welcome to my blog
Well, thanks for stopping by! I’m not too sure the difference between poetry/verse but I know that anyone that can articulate their feelings or emotions through words has a great talent for sharing that view with others. I’ve already seen it in some of your pieces…so vivid. Anyways, keep up the great work…I’ll definitely be stopping by more often :DD
Haha and I thank you for stopping by my world. Verse is just another word for poetry, and I’m glad you enjoyed my words, and I look forward to your next visit.
Oh alright, that would make sense then. Nonetheless, really moving stuff! Thanks for the follow by the way 😀
No problem, I like your writing.
Hi there!
Thanks so much for your visit today, for your “likes” and for following me! I will return the favor and look forward to getting to know you through your thoughts! 🙂
By the way, since you’re into nature, you might enjoy some of my nature Haiku. http://lscotthoughts.com/category/haiku/
Thanks again!
Lauren
Thank you, I will check it out! I have a great respect for those who write Haiku, it is a form I have never excelled in, though perhaps I will give it a shot soon….
I only started writing them in October and am still honing my skills! There are also many others I wrote out of the “nature” box… 🙂
A pleasure to meet you Mistress Catcher. I have read so little of your offering but will be sure to return for more.
I read your “About” profile and can’t wait to see how it may shift and change with time.
RR
‘Tis a pleasure to meet you, Rivenrod. I will be visiting you for more as well, I found your work very thought provoking.
Thank you for liking my recent post: ‘In a Cold Climate’ and especially for directing me to your blog. Your ‘about’ reminded me so much of myself when I was a teenager. No matter what has changed in my life, writing has been the constant…not always easily but somehow always for the better. I look forward to following your work and reflections.
Thank you, I hope my writing will mature to be as good as yours as I grow more experienced in the art, and I am touched that I remind you of yourself, for you seem like a wonderful person, I am glad to have met you!!
I too have difficulty unless I’m writing poetically. It was not until recently that I realized that philosophy and poetry are cousins. Thank you for subscribing to my blog. I look forward to more of your posts too.
They are closely intertwined….of course, I enjoyed reading your writing and I also look forward to more of your posts!

Wow, Andrea, I’m totally honoured to have you on board (the telling of my true story regarding my son).
That you are a teenage girl with so much poetic ability is so inspiring. And i loved your recent post – you seem strong, sure and real. These are great elements for ANY human being to have…. but you so young.
Good on you for making this blog. I am absolutely you are going to inspire no end. I will drop in every now & then as, raising my son & working full time (and at present overworking 😦 ) – I can’t be regular. But I’ve visited & I am hugely impressed. Bloody good on you.

Love this about page and the poem. I could have sworn I hit the follow button! Well, now I have. I love that picture on the header…did you take that? I love sunlight illuminating fall colored leaves (especially the bright yellow ones) and looking at them from the same perspective as the photo on the header.
In addition to poetry being a powerful element, I also like aphorisms or maxims. Look forward to reading through some of your old posts and new ones to come.
Gosh, no, I wish so!! I liked it for the same reasons 🙂
Thanks for visiting and I look forward to more of your thought-provoking and revolutionary posts.

As you will see from a click to http://bookofguff.wordpress.com/2012/04/29/beautiful-sunshine/ you are included in my list of “recommended sites”. You are invited to accept either or both of the Awards offered here which you are not currently in receipt of. Should you have them all already I can only add to that fact by saying how much I enjoy your writings and honour their author.

Ben, you are so sweet, but I do not accept awards. That you read my works is quite enough, and your belief in me means a great deal.
