Don’t Forget To Live

6 12 2011

Life’s so fleeting

Ever receding

Always leaving

With every breath

No time to second guess

Cling to memories

Don’t let them fade

A stare of lust

A glare of rage

A glimpse of perfection

Life’s a stage

Heartbreak beats

Heart-wait

Topple your fear

And you’ll come near

To finding yourself

Don’t become

A dusty tome

On an ancient shelf

Write all your pages

Decorate your own stages

Tear down the walls

Of life’s mazes

Lovely. I read your comment that it was written for a family member just diagnosed with cancer. I lost my brother eight months ago to cancer. The words flowed through his illness and shortly after. It’s a difficult process. I’m sending positive thoughts your way.

Thank you so much! It means a lot to know that even someone I have never met cares.
